Facebook Scam Alert!! Random Friends Requests
I was preparing for my final semester exams and opened my Facebook after a while. To my surprise, I had a lot of friend requests from hot women living in Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, etc.
I usually reject the friends request from strangers or from people with whom I have no mutual friends, so ignored them at that moment.
Story Intro: Panic Call From A Friend
It was 2 am in the morning and I received a call from a friend. I picked it up with hesitation and said, “Did you even check what time it is?”
He said, “I need your help.” There was fear in his voice.
I got anxious and asked, “What’s the matter?”
Our conversation continued.
Friend: Can you please log in to my Facebook account? I will give you my credentials.
Me: Ahhh!!! Can’t you do it by yourself??
Friend: It’s hard to explain, please just do what I say.
Me: Alright, send me the details.
I logged in and found a video posted by a girl on his wall with the title ‘The Dirty Secrets of X’.
Friend: Please don’t open it and just delete it from my wall.
Me just being myself, opened the video to find my friend jerking off in it.
WTF did I just watch!!
Me: What the hell is this! Why is some random girl posting shit about you on Facebook?
The Scam Explained!!
Apparently, this is what happened.
He got a friend request from a random stranger on Facebook, but instead of deleting, he accepted it.
As soon as he accepted it, she messaged, “Do you want to do a video chat?”
After he agreed to a video chat, the girl started stripping.
Later she asked him to do the same.
Few minutes after being totally naked in front of the camera, she started fingering herself. She suggested doing the same.
The day after this video session, the girl sent the following message:
Thanks for showing off your dick. For your information, I have recorded everything from our masturbation session.
I need $1000 transferred to my money-gram account or I will post this video on your Facebook.”
My friend thought it was a bluff and ignored the messages. A few days later, she did exactly what she had threatened to do.
At 2 am in the morning, I saw my friend jerking off, listened to a stupid story, and now he asks me to get him out of this shit.
What I did..
-First of all, I deleted the video from Facebook
-Removed her from his friends list
-Reported her profile and similar profiles.
-Messaged everyone in his friend’s list saying, “Don’t open any video in which I’m tagged. It’s a virus.”
-Updated the privacy settings
-Decided not to discuss this horrifying night ever again
The Story Doesn’t End Here..
A week later I got a phone call from another friend saying, “Bro, I need your help.”
In my mind I was, “Please don’t ask me to delete your dick video”
Friend 2: Can you please help me in deleting a video from YouTube?
YouTube! Now, this is new!
Why do you wanna remove it? Send me the link.
The video was titled, ‘The dirty secrets of X.’
Alright. At least they are following a naming convention for the video titles.
To report the video to YouTube, I had to watch the whole video to mention the timing of the sexual content.
FYI, It was the worst porn I have ever seen.
Fuck, why are my friends so pervert??
There are a few things that you can’t unsee after watching them. Watching your friend jerking off is one of them and I have already seen two.
There is more to the story..
Just a week later after the second incident, I received a call from another asshole friend of mine with the same issue.
Friends 3: “Listen, I need you to handle an issue for me.”
This time “The Scam Girls” (Yeah, I gave them that name) has improvised their game-play. They have gone through the friend’s list of the potential victim and threatened to direct message the video to everyone.
There was no solution out of this, as his friend’s list was public.
Now was the time to bring on my negotiation skills.
I direct messaged her pretending to be my friend and said, “I’m a student and there is no way that I could pay your $1000. I could give $100 if you like.”
She replied, “I’m not a fucking beggar, I need $900.”
I showed my bank balance receipt which had $29 in it and negotiated with her for an hour and fixated on $200.
One thing I never understood is, why the hell everyone is calling me in these kinds of situations. I had to see three of my friends jerking off and help them get out of a shitty situation.
Later found that there were at least hundreds of students who were victims of these scams.
100 people * $1000 = $100000 min.
Damn! That’s a high return company with $0 investment.
